The ASM 12mm SmartFeeder with sensor (00141391) is an enhanced version of the SIPLACE X-series SmartFeeder, featuring an integrated splice detection sensor. Compared to the standard model (00141371), this unit incorporates a dedicated splice sensor.
Utilizing the Hall effect, the sensor monitors the component tape’s sprocket holes and the status of any splices in real time. If an anomaly—such as a faulty splice, a jam, or an out-of-stock condition—is detected, the system provides feedback to the main controller within milliseconds, triggering an alarm. This closed-loop, real-time monitoring effectively prevents component pickup misalignment and collisions, significantly reducing both component waste (rejection rates) and unplanned downtime.
Designed for 12mm component tapes, the feeder supports an adjustable pitch (from 4mm to 16mm) and occupies two feeder slots. It is particularly well-suited for flexible SMT production lines that handle a high mix of products and require frequent splicing, serving as an intelligent component that ensures high production continuity and facilitates autonomous, unmanned operation.
