DISCO DAD3431 6-inch Single-spindle Semi-automatic Dicing Saw

DISCO Dicing Saw dad3431The DISCO DAD3431 is a 6-inch, single-spindle, semi-automatic dicing saw designed for high-precision processing, featuring enhanced rigidity and accuracy.

Core Precision and Rigidity

A key highlight is the use of an air-bearing guide for the X-axis, which significantly improves linear motion accuracy. Combined with a standard-issue linear scale on the Y-axis, the system achieves highly stable axis control and positioning (with a Y-axis positioning accuracy of 0.0015 mm/160 mm). The Z-axis offers a movement resolution of 2 nm and a repeatability of 0.001 mm, providing a solid foundation for precision dicing.

Processing Capability and Efficiency

The machine comes equipped with a 2.0 kW high-torque spindle (operating at 3,000–40,000 min⁻¹), enabling it to handle difficult-to-cut materials with ease. While the standard processing capacity is for 6-inch (Φ6") workpieces, optional configurations allow for the processing of square workpieces up to 150×150 mm or 220×160 mm. An optional non-contact height sensing (NCS) feature reduces blade height measurement time by 74%, effectively boosting throughput.

Intelligence and Ease of Use

The DAD3431 supports SECS/GEM communication, facilitating integration into automated factory environments. In terms of operation, the Extended Interface System (XIS) consolidates critical controls within the microscope display area. It also provides wafer mapping, visualization of parameter logs, and a troubleshooting help viewer—all designed to lower the operational learning curve and reduce the frequency of maintenance.

Overall, the DAD3431 is well-suited for applications requiring high dicing precision and superior surface quality, such as the dicing and grooving of optical components, magnetic heads, and other precision parts.
