The DISCO DAD324 is the successor to the DAD323, introduced in 2019 as part of an update to the company’s semi-automatic dicing saw series. It maintains the series' core design philosophy of an "ultra-compact footprint"—retaining a machine width of just 490 mm—which offers a significant advantage in terms of output per unit area for production lines requiring multiple units arranged side-by-side.
Key performance enhancements focus on efficiency and operability. Powered by a high-performance MCU and full-axis servo control, the return speeds for all axes have been substantially increased: the X-axis speed has risen from 500 mm/s (in the DAD322) to 800 mm/s, the Y-axis from 150 mm/s to 200 mm/s, and the Z-axis from 30 mm/s to 80 mm/s. A new Non-Contact Setup (NCS) system reduces blade-height measurement time by 74% while simultaneously improving measurement accuracy. The machine comes standard with a 2.0 kW high-torque spindle (40,000 min⁻¹) capable of handling workpieces up to 6 inches in diameter (with support for 150 mm square substrates available via special configuration), making it well-suited for processing compound semiconductors, LEDs, and similar materials. The operator interface features the integrated XIS system, which consolidates control buttons directly onto the microscope display; it also includes standard automated functions—such as autofocus, auto-calibration, and automatic kerf detection—that lower the operational barrier for users.
