The TEL P-8 is a fully automated 6/8-inch wafer prober from Tokyo Electron (TEL), designed for high throughput and stable mass production; it is widely used for wafer sort (CP) testing. The system supports cassette-to-cassette automated loading/unloading and optical alignment, and it is compatible with major ATE platforms such as those from Advantest and Teradyne. It offers various chuck options—including ambient, thermal (typically ranging from room temperature to 200°C), and tri-axial low-leakage configurations—making it suitable for testing applications in analog/mixed-signal, RF, and automotive electronics. With a large cumulative shipment volume, a mature platform, and readily available spare parts, the P-8 remains actively traded on the secondary market and continues to be a practical choice for high-volume testing on 200mm production lines.
